“It takes each of us to make a difference for all of us.”

― Jackie Mutcheson

Callahan Financial Planning Company, in its 2014 Callahan Financial Planning Gives Back campaign, asked its clients to each nominate a charity they wished to receive 5% of the company’s annual income. The campaign resulted in the nomination of 44 different charities, all of which represented valuable causes for our community.

This year’s nominations resulted in a tie, so the donation was evenly split between both winning charities. We have also provided a list of the top 10 nominations by total number of votes, to allow clients to know where their odds may be improved in future votes.

Winning Recipients
Food Bank for the Heartland
Catholic Charities of Omaha
Runners Up
Open Door Mission
Alzheimer's Association
Salvation Army
Nebraska Humane Society
Nebraska Children's Home Society
Project Harmony
The Hope Center
Adoption Links Worldwide

We are proud of our clients and staff for making this program a big success, and are looking forward to the opportunity to give back more to local causes in future years.

A few notes on the Callahan Financial Planning Gives Back rules and process:

Each client was allowed one vote. A client was defined as a household, which may contain one or more individuals. In the event more than one vote was received in a single household, the vote was registered for the more common charity (measured by total number of independent votes). When variations of a charity name were nominated, we used the local equivalent for each vote. Employees of Callahan Financial Planning Company are not eligible to vote. Charities were considered eligible if they are recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization.
